DIFFERENT, NOT LESS

At the heart of this small collection are five remarkable artists, Gavin Dobson, Shumaiya Khan, Stanley Onah, Louise Hapton, and Kazland, each bringing a distinct voice and vision to their work. While their practices span painting, sculpture, ceramics, print, and mixed media, what unites them is the extraordinary way they experience and interpret the world. All of these artists are neurodivergent, and it is through this unique lens that they approach creativity, observation, and expression.

Seeing the world differently allows these artists to engage with ideas, emotions, and narratives in ways that are deeply original. Gavin’s vivid abstractions capture the movement of thought; Shumaiya weaves myth and spirituality into immersive, layered forms; Stanley distills human emotion and identity into compelling portraits; Louise transforms fragility and cuteness into radical statements of empowerment; and Kazland creates narrative worlds that blend imagination, folklore, and abstraction. Each practice is a testament to how neurodivergent perception can unlock new ways of seeing and making.

This exhibition is not only a celebration of technical skill and artistic vision, it is a recognition of the power of difference. By embracing their distinctive ways of experiencing life, these artists turn perception into creativity and challenge audiences to engage with the world with fresh eyes. Their work reminds us that what is often seen as unconventional is, in fact, a profound source of insight, innovation, and artistic gift.
