Isalu's path to the art world was anything but conventional. With a background in linguistics and a degree in Italian Language and Literature from NB University in Bulgaria, she initially embarked on a career as an interpreter and translator. However, after living in Florence and later moving to London, she found herself irresistibly drawn to art.
As a self-taught painter, Isilu creates works that blend vibrant colors with a touch of whimsy, aiming to captivate and delight her audience. Her art is straightforward and joyful, offering no hidden messages—just pure playfulness. Through exaggerated, stereotypical characters, Isilu breathes life into a unique mix of powdered masculinity and high camp, crafting pieces that are both entertaining and visually striking.
