ALEXANDER WEAVER
Alexander Weaver is a British artist whose practice is rooted in a lifelong devotion to painting and drawing. Inspired from an early age by the Old Masters, his technique has been shaped by years of study, experimentation, and mentorship, including formal training at Hereford and work as an assistant to established painters.
Now based in Devon, Alexander’s work weaves classical painting traditions with personal, contemporary narratives. His art draws heavily on the mythic and historical, reimagining ancient stories through a lens of queer experience, vulnerability, and desire. Central to his practice is the male figure, rendered with intimacy and reverence, exploring the intersections of beauty, emotion, and identity. Alongside his figurative compositions, Alexander paints animals in rich, classical styles, symbols of longing, reflection, and emotional transformation. In these works, myth and memory meet, offering the viewer a space for contemplation and connection.
With a voice both timeless and deeply personal, Alexander continues to expand the visual language of classical art for a new generation.
