François | Limited Edition Metallic Portrait

François is taken from a series of analogue portraits captured on 35mm, expired Kodak Gold which gives the images a rich 70’s tone. The images are then hand developed in a dark room. The artist uses the developing chemicals to help intentionally overexpose and manipulate the images at the development stage. The use of acids and sometimes even fire on the negatives helps create petroleum hues and adds a raw depth to each image.

For the artists there is a romanticism to editing the images this way. Each subject and each photograph influences the individual manipulation techniques resulting in images that are steeped in a visual language which is as much about the artists that it is the sitter and the viewer.

Our standard frames are high quality box frames in either bleached Ash or Black.

The frames mouldings measure 2cm across and 3cm deep. All our frames are finished with glass (not plexiglass or acrylic) for a superior finish.

Box frames are great as they allow the glass to be kept away from the surface of the print without the need of a window mount.
